Group exhibition When Storms Reveal Silence Kunstquartier Bethanien, Berlin, 2023 The exhibition was the culmination of the online lab “Her*Gaze.” This program invited feminist artists from Ukraine, Poland, and Germany to apply ethical methods in dealing with the stories of women* affected by war and war-related trauma. The exhibition is set in the context of the ongoing Russian invasion of Ukraine and responds to the flood of saturated, violent depictions of what is widely considered the “best-documented war.” In the exhibition, I showed a series of nine narrative drawings (fineliner and watercolor on paper, format 29.5 x 42 cm) that I developed from the escape memories of Halina, a resident of the city of Kharkiv. The large-format drawings combine Halina's narrative with another, graphic narrative level.
